1. Turn Off Your Sound Notifications
Email notifications distract us, are difficult to not click on, and as a result they wreck our concentration. We know that turning them off can be downright scary. Don’t worry, even with them off, you’ll still check your email. Follow our advice and do it, and if it doesn’t work for you, you can always turn them back on later.
Find and click on the settings icon on your iPhone.
Go to the “Sounds” menu. You may have to scroll down to find this option.
CHANGE "NEW MAIL" TO OFF
Take a moment and assess your other sound notifications while you are here. You may find it helpful to turn off Text Tones, Ringtones, Sent Mail sounds, or other sound notifications available on this screen.
2. Turn Off Your Visual Notifications
Visual notifications are often more distracting than sound notifications. Take back control and turn them off.
To turn off visual notifications, click the Settings app on your iPhone.
Scroll down and select the “Notifications” menu.
SELECT YOUR MAIL APP
Select your Mail App. If you have Gmail or Microsoft Outlook installed, you will need to repeat the same steps below for those programs.
TURN "ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS" OFF
For the Mail App and the Gmail or Microsoft Oulok App if you have them installed, turn off the notifications by clicking on the “Allow Notifications” slider.
